The summer holiday was coming and I was so excited because I had planned a trip with my family. We decided to go to Guilin, which is a famous tourist city in China. I had heard a lot about the beautiful scenery there and I couldn't wait to see it with my own eyes.
We took a train and arrived in Guilin in the afternoon. The weather was hot and humid, but we were all in high spirits. We checked into our hotel and rested for a while before we started our exploration of the city.
The first place we visited was the Elephant Trunk Hill, which is a natural rock formation that looks like an elephant drinking water from the river. It was amazing to see such a unique and beautiful sight. We took a lot of photos and enjoyed the cool breeze from the river.
Next, we went to the Reed Flute Cave, which is a limestone cave with colorful lights that make the stalactites and stalagmites look like a fairyland. It was a bit crowded inside, but the beauty of the cave was worth it. We also watched a light show that told the story of the cave.
On the second day, we went to the Longji Rice Terraces, which are located in a mountainous area about two hours' drive from Guilin. The terraces are built on the slopes of the mountains and they look like giant steps. The scenery there was breathtaking and we took a lot of photos. We also tasted some local food, such as bamboo rice and fried snails.
The last place we visited was the Li River, which is famous for its picturesque landscape. We took a cruise and enjoyed the view of the karst mountains, the green forests, and the clear water. It was like sailing in a painting. We also saw some fishermen using cormorants to catch fish, which was very interesting.
The trip to Guilin was a wonderful experience for me. I learned a lot about the culture and the history of the city, and I also enjoyed the natural beauty of the landscape. I hope to visit Guilin again someday and explore more of its hidden treasures.
