I was so excited to start junior high school this week! The first day was a little nerve-wracking, but I quickly got used to my new schedule and classes. I have six different teachers and each one has a unique teaching style. My favorite class so far is English, because we get to read interesting stories and practice our writing skills.

In addition to my academic classes, I also joined the school's volleyball team. We had our first practice on Wednesday and it was really fun. I'm not the best player on the team, but I'm determined to improve and help my teammates. I also signed up for the school's chess club, which meets on Fridays after school.

One thing I wasn't expecting was how much homework we would have. I spent several hours each night studying and completing assignments. It's a lot more work than I had in elementary school, but I know it will help me prepare for high school and college.

Overall, I'm really enjoying my first week of junior high school. It's challenging, but also exciting and rewarding. I can't wait to see what the rest of the school year has in store for me!
