specify与state区别是：

1、侧重点不同

specify指非常具体、明确、不可能引起误解地说明，引申可指“指定”。

state常指在正式或庄重的场合陈述观点、看法等。

2、用法不同

specify是及物动词，接名词或代词作宾语，也常接that从句和疑问词从句。

state一般用作及物动词，接名词、代词、that从句、带疑问词的从句作宾语。还可接以“to be+ n.”或to have+ v -ed充当补足语的复合宾语。

3、词义广泛性不同

specify只表示动词，是“详细说明；指定；阐述”的意思。

state除了表示动词，还可以表示形容词，是“国家的；州的；国事礼仪的”的意思。也可以表示名词，是“情形；状态；国家；州；政府”的意思。
